Follow the yellow brick road straight into the shadows of the laboratory on Saturday, October 3, for a colossal, back-to-back double feature on MeTV!
Starting the night off at 7P | 6C, Svengoolie takes a trip over the rainbow with the timeless 1939 fantasy musical classic, The Wizard of Oz! Join Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale alongside the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion as they journey to the Emerald City while evading the iconic, cackling Wicked Witch of the West and her army of Winged Monkeys. Sven will be on hand with plenty of technicolor trivia, emerald-tinted puns, and a cyclone of flying rubber chickens to keep the poppies from putting you to sleep!
Then, the thrills continue into the late night as the House of Svengoolie keeps the lights dim for Universal’s 1940 sci-fi mystery sequel, The Invisible Man Returns! Starring horror royalty Vincent Price in his first-ever genre role, the film follows Geoffrey Radcliffe, a man falsely accused of murder who is injected with the infamous invisibility serum to escape execution and clear his name—all while racing against the creeping madness that comes with the drug. Packed with groundbreaking special effects and Price’s silky, commanding voice, it’s a brilliant, shadowy companion piece to the original. The Sven Squad will stick around to supply transparent wisecracks, vintage studio history, and an unseen volley of rubber poultry!
Grab your ruby slippers and your favorite pair of dark sunglasses—tune in to MeTV on Saturday, October 3, with a special start time at 7 PM/6 Central, for an unforgettable night of fantasy, mystery, and monster mayhem!
