For the 2024 season, Ghoulish Productions introduced some new, fun designs, including some licensed characters that we have not seen in awhile. One mask in particular stood out to me and it was their version of Nosferatu the Vampire. In the past, everything that I have received from this company has looked pretty close to the website images so I had high hopes for this piece.

Based on the advertised pictures, this mask is beautifully sculpted with an amazing paint job. It even looked like a mask that would look great worn. I had to have it. When it arrived, I must say it was slightly off than the website photos. The sculpture was still good and the paint was creepy. It was the eyebrows that caused that mask to go from awesome to comical.

I don’t know how quality control works at Ghoulish Productions, but how this mask looks with these eyebrows is unacceptable. This mask would have been a home run if the eyebrows had been done correctly. What were they thinking? Are all production copies like this or did I just get lucky? It also doesn’t help that they went with black eyebrows, even though the website photos clearly show gray (and the hair around the ears is gray).

I do like the hand-punched hair around the ears and the paint job works on every level. The purple shading around the eyes and the beautifully painted mouth and teeth create a character to be scared of. And then the eyebrows. They are placed above the browline which makes absolutely no sense.
I plan to remove the eyebrows, which are glued on the entire length, and reposition them like in the stock photo. I would love to see what other buyers ended up with when buying this mask. Nosferatu is not a total loss. The great sculpt and paint job that Ghoulish Productions is known for are there. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the eyebrows are an easy fix.
EDITOR’S NOTE: I did look for other reviews of this mask online and it looks like the copy I received is typical of what is being sold. What a shame. Because of this I will no longer be selling this mask in my eBay store. I did get an apology from Ghoulish Productions on Facebook, but not an offer for a correct mask in exchange, which is a shame.
