As most monster kids my age did, I spent little to no time playing sports growing up. Instead, I spent my weekends watching any and all monster movies that I could find on TV. Each Tuesday, when the new TV Guide came in for the following week, I would go through page by page making myself a list of what movies were playing, on what station and at what time. Then I would try to watch as many of them as I could, of course assuming that our TV’s UHF antenna would actually be able to draw the station in at the time the movie was airing.

For the Halloween season of 2020 I became aware of a company that showed up on my Facebook feed called Terror Threads. They were advertising a House Of Terror USB cassette and the whole concept intrigued me. I grew up with albums such as Sounds To Make You Shiver and Disney’s Chilling, Thrilling Sounds Of The Haunted House and this looked like something very similar. Since I had never heard of this company, and since I had been getting inundated with scam ads on Facebook, I went to the website to see if this was a similar situation. Thankfully, it was not.

BASEMENT BUSINESS REVIEW: Electric Buddhas in Portland, Maine


We are in difficult times. I am writing this on April 24, 2020, and thanks to the coronavirus we have been in self isolation for about a month now. This has affected everyone differently. Children are being home-schooled, doctors are seeing patients through Telehealth and non-essential retail stores have been forced to close. You truly don’t know what you’ve got until it is taken away from you, almost overnight.
