Prepare yourself for a night of classic horror. Enjoy modern horror too. Svengoolie presents a double feature. It’s guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat! On Saturday, May 17th, the master of macabre will be showcasing two films. They are very different, yet equally terrifying. The films are Ghost of Frankenstein and The Blair Witch Project.

Ghost of Frankenstein (1942)
The night begins with a trip back to the golden age of horror with Ghost of Frankenstein. This classic continues the saga of the infamous monster, picking up after the destruction of Frankenstein’s castle.
- Plot: Ygor, miraculously still alive, finds the Monster weakened but preserved. To restore his strength, they seek out Ludwig Frankenstein, the original doctor’s son. Ludwig plans to destroy the monster. However, he is convinced by the ghost of his father to give the creature a new, good brain instead. However, Ygor has his own sinister plans, manipulating events to have his own brain transplanted into the Monster. The result? A monster with Ygor’s evil intellect and Frankenstein’s brute strength.
- Svengoolie’s Touch: Expect plenty of hilarious commentary. Enjoy behind-the-scenes trivia. Sven’s signature song parodies will lighten the mood between the scares.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Next, prepare for a plunge into the woods with the groundbreaking found-footage horror of The Blair Witch Project. This film redefined the genre with its raw, realistic style and terrifying sense of dread.
- Plot: In October 1994, three student filmmakers venture into the Black Hills Forest of Maryland to document the legend of the Blair Witch. Armed with cameras, they set out to uncover the truth behind the local folklore. However, as they journey deeper into the woods, they become hopelessly lost, and strange, unsettling events begin to occur. The film is presented as the “recovered footage” from their ill-fated expedition, leaving the audience to piece together the horrifying events that led to their disappearance.
- Svengoolie’s Spin: While the film itself is devoid of humor, Svengoolie will undoubtedly provide his own unique perspective on the film’s impact and legacy, along with some much-needed comedic relief during the commercial breaks.
