David’s Basement of the Bizarre having an actual Newsletter is something I have been toying with for a while. This first edition is an experiment, seeing how it works and if there is any response. Obviously, this is only going out to my subscribers so let me know what you think. Is it helpful? Is there something you would like to see? What am I doing wrong? As of this writing, I am not sure how often I will send these out. If the response is decent, I will keep doing them. And now onto some announcements.
In case you haven’t noticed, I have posts going up daily! This is no easy feat. What you are seeing is a combination of new posts and rehashing posts from the very beginning, posts that may have been missed. In the rehash posts, I will be updating them and making them more current. They will be improved grammatically. Links will be updated. Any new information that have come to light since a post was originally posted will be added. By doing this I am hoping to attract even more readers.

HALLOWEEN IS COMING!
We are nearing the end of June. Stores like Michaels and AtHome are already stocking their shelves with Halloween goodness. Though it may seem as though Halloween is appearing in stores earlier and earlier (yes, school just got out), those of us Halloween fanatics don’t mind at all. For some of us, Halloween is a year-round part of our lives. I plan on doing a lot of Halloween themed blogs this September and October so keep your eyes peeled.
Meanwhile, have you checked out my HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN BOOMBOX, and HALLOWEEN DO-IT YOURSELF pages? This should tide you over until September!

DR. DEMENTO IS RETIRING
As a long-time listener of the Dr. Demento Show, the good doctor will officially be retiring in October of this year. I will be doing a tribute retrospective on the great Barry Hansen on August 30th. I remember staying up trying to listen to his syndicated show every Sunday night. Unfortunately, the closest radio station that carried him was in the next state so to hear the show, it really depended on the weather!

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER RETROSPECTIVE
The television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer is no stranger to David’s Basement of the Bizarre. I will be doing a seven-part retrospective on this amazing show. The retrospective starts on Sunday, August 10. Each entry will cover an individual season, published Sundays for seven weeks. In the meantime, check out THE BASEMENT’S TIMELESS TELEVISION: Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003).
KEEP THE REVIEWS COMING!
A staple of David’s Basement of the Bizarre is reviewing movies and books. This is one of my favorite things to do. I already have many scheduled for the coming months but am always looking for more. If you are a filmmaker or author, feel free to reach out to me. I love not only reviewing movies and books, but I am also very good at promoting them!
So that’s it for this edition. I love feedback so let me know what you think! I truly appreciate all of my readers.
~David Albaugh

Keep up the great work! I love it.
